Following a comprehensive national search, the Board of Directors of the Boys Club of Sioux City proudly announces the hiring of Eldon Bensen as the organization’s new Chief Professional Officer. The Boys Club of Sioux City has been serving the youth of Siouxland for over 77 years. The Boys Club members experience a safe place to learn and grow through life-enhancing programs and character development experiences provided by caring adult professionals. The mission of the Boys Club of Sioux City is to inspire and enable all boys, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as responsible, caring and productive citizens.
“On behalf of the Boys Club Board of Directors, I want to say that we are delighted to have Mr. Bensen become Chief Professional Officer”, says, John Olson, Boys Club of Sioux City Board President. “He is an insightful leader with a record of dedication to the Boys Club mission. A skilled and effective communicator, his strengths and hands-on experience encompass all areas of responsibility that are charged to the position.”
According to Olson, the search committee reviewed a number of fine applications during a five-month long national search. The committee was impressed by Mr. Bensen’s breadth of experience and his years of service in leadership positions for Boys and Girls Clubs of Sioux Falls and Des Moines. Bensen has a BS Degree from Wayne State College.
“I am very excited to join such a great organization that has been working hard for the kids in Siouxland,” says Bensen. “I hope to help the Boys Club grow and create an even greater impact by working together with the staff, Board and the communities we serve.” Bensen will begin his new responsibilities with the Boys Club on June 2, 2014. He and his wife Katie look forward to their move to Siouxland.
